League Scrapbook
The Citrus League Scrapbook is a window back into the past; not through statistics and results (check out our History page for that) but through the media of the time. Whether it’s historic logos, old newspapers, advertising campaigns, or quotes from coaches and players, you will find it here.
Season 5 Scrapbook
Season 5 was highlighted by the newly formed Anville Roundhouse Knights making a strong push for the treble, winning the Yuzu Cup and Lemon-Lime Trophy before falling in the Orange Bowl to the Skycats, who claimed the title for the first time. This was the first Orange Bowl without the Bronze Wyrms, who were on hiatus for the season. In addition to the Knights, this season also saw the arrival of the Virbank Distortion, filling in for the now departed CybirdZ.
Season 4 Scrapbook
Season 4 saw the Skycats soar to the Lemon-Lime Trophy, but when the Orange Bowl came around it was business as usual for the Wyrms who won their 4th straight crown. We saw the arrival of the Sunyshore CybirdZ, who replaced the Meteors, and the Oreburgh Drill Bits, who replaced the Dreams. The Rydel Elec-trikes, representing the Acro-bats in the Yuzu Cup, won their 2nd consecutive tournament.
Season 3 Scrapbook
The Citrus League's third season saw the addition of an eighth team, the Rydel Acro-bats, meaning a further schedule expansion to 14 regular season games. The Azalea Dynasty passed their spot in the league along to the Mossdeep Meteors, bumping the number of Hoenn based franchises from one to three. It was also the first season to feature the pre-season Yuzu Cup competition. The New Mauville 3-Volts, the Acro-bats' Yuzu Cup identity, claimed the inaugural title, and the Bats senior team made a big splash by reaching the Orange Bowl in their first season. However, it was the Bronze Wyrms who reigned supreme, securing a 2nd consecutive Lemon-Lime Trophy and a third consecutive Orange Bowl, continuing their dominance of the league.
Season 2 Scrapbook
The second season of Citrus League play saw the introduction of a seventh franchise, the Accumula Walkers, as well as an expanded schedule and new playoff format. The Bronze Wyrms asserted their place at the top of the pecking order, completing the double with a Lemon-Lime Trophy win and an Orange Bowl repeat. The Walkers finished bottom of the table, but the newly relocated Hooligans made the playoffs and a run to the semi-finals. The Azalea Dynasty, having relocated from Celadon, played out their only season in front of small but raucous crowds in what remains the smallest town to host a Citrus League team.
Season 1 Scrapbook
The Citrus League's inaugural campaign saw the six charter members compete for the Orange Bowl and ended with the Hammerlocke Bronze Wyrms defeating the Lemon-Lime Trophy winning Sootopolis Skycats in a one-sided final. This was the only season for Hammerlocke's second team, as the Perrserkers would move down the road to become the Spikemuth Steely Hooligans the following season. It was also the only season for the Celadon Cybirds, whose ownership group has elected to move the franchise around to many different cities.
